Queensland Vaulting held their State Championships on the weekend on the 8th and 9th of September. It was a very successful weekend with 5 Interstate vaulters (4 Melbourne vaulters and 1 Sydney vaulter ) making their way up to compete. There was a good spirit of friendship and support amongst the vaulters and all had fun cheering for their clubs and for the other clubs. The title of Queensland, Champion Vaulter was taken out by Fassifern Vaulter, Lucy Betts who has recently returned from a training tour in Europe where she was the “test” vaulter for the Junior European Vaulting Championships. The Champion team was also awarded to Fassifern, the team consists of Emily Kleier, David Waller, Lucy Betts, Anna Betts, Anna Paxton and Jean Betts. This is the third consecutive year that the Fassifern Team has won that award. The other Queensland clubs, Kingfisher and Ella Springs, also had their fair share of trophies and ribbons from the weekend. As chair of the newly reformed Queensland Vaulting committee Angie Deeks congratulated the Vaulting Committee on their efforts and said they should be proud of their achievements in producing such a successful event.
